Introduction to Zhejiang Institute of Communications
Founded in 1958, the Zhejiang Institute of Communications (website), known as the “cradle of Zhejiang transportation talents”, is affiliated to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transportation.
The institute is located in Hangzhou City, adjacent to the Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University. It combines the “West Lake” and “Xixi” natural resources. It is characterized by modernization and professionalism. It enjoys the title of “Charming Campus” and the “Beautiful Campus” of Zhejiang Province. The school covers an area of 427,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 278,000 square meters. It has 8,922 students and 588 faculty members, including 159 senior titles. The school has modern, digital education and living facilities.
Zhejiang Institute of Communications has 9 secondary colleges including Luqiao College, Automobile College, Maritime College, Aviation College, Rail Transit College, Smart Transportation College, Transportation Management College, Humanities College, Continuing Education College, and Zhejiang Province Transportation Science with independent legal personality. Research Institute, Zhejiang Highway Water Transportation Engineering Consulting Company, Zhejiang Transportation Vocational and Technical College Asset Management Co., Ltd. and 15 research institutes.
In response to the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the school led the formation of the National Transportation Vocational Education International Alliance, established two overseas “Luban Schools”, and reached a cooperation intention with Laos to establish the “Silk Road Transportation College”. Zhejiang Institute of Communications work with the Ministry of Education and top five German automobile manufacturers. The Sino-German Automobile Vocational Education Project was selected as the sample project among higher vocational colleges. The Ministry of Education also approved our cooperation with the US-based Bemidji State University to organize two higher-level special education programs for communication technology, automobile application and maintenance technology. The People’s Liberation Army Navy North Sea Fleet and the East China Sea Fleet signed an agreement to train the sergeant students; Zhejiang Institute of Communications cooperated with Toyota Motor (China) Co., Ltd. to develop the T-TEP project (Toyota Education); and developed professional development with foreign institutions such as the German Foreign Trade and Transportation College, the West Coast Institute of Science and Technology, and Taiwan Longhua University of Science and Technology. International cooperation projects such as teacher-student exchanges; cooperation with related enterprises and institutions such as roads and bridges, automobiles, shipping, shipping, logistics, railways, subways, machinery and electronics, IT, communications, foreign trade, tourism, etc., and 296 practice teaching bases outside the school.
