Introduction to Beijing Bailie University

Beijing Bailie University’s predecessor was the Baili Vocational University, which was founded in May 1983. It is one of the earliest private universities in China’s reform and opening up. Its history originates from the Peili School founded by Louis Alley during the Anti-Japanese War in the last century.

The establishment and construction of Beijing Bailie University has received strong support from international friends and well-known social activist Louis Alley. He proposed and approved the Beijing Municipal Authority to change the name of the school to Peili Vocational University, and served as Ma Haide. Our school is the first honorary principal. In 1984, Alli personally identified our school as the Peili Vocational University. The reason why it was named “Peili” was to commemorate its predecessor, Joseph Peili, and the second was to cultivate talents for the dawn of China. Louis Alley came to China in 1927, participated in the first international Marxist study group, and established contacts with the Communist Party of China. His residence became the meeting point and refuge for underground work for the Chinese Anti-Japanese War and New China. Much work has been done in construction, education, and propaganda. Comrade Deng Xiaoping called him a “great internationalist fighter”, an old soldier, old friend, and comrade of the Chinese people.

Beijing Bailie University puts unified enrollment quotas in 26 provinces, municipalities (autonomous regions) nationwide, and uniformly recruits students in accordance with the regulations of the provincial, municipal (autonomous region) college admissions offices. Beijing Bailie University actively develops international exchanges and cooperation. Beijing Bailie University has established the Louis Alley International Cultural Exchange Center, an international talent training base, and an elite class for studying abroad, and has made great efforts to build the college into a national cultural education and exchange platform.
