Jiangsu Vocational College of Medicine (江苏医药职业学院) is a full-time public college-level general college directly under the provincial health committee, and it is a model vocational college in Jiangsu province and a provincial and municipal tripartite joint-built school. The school was formerly known as the Central China Medical School of the New Fourth Army in July 1941. In 1958, the Yancheng Medical College and the Yancheng College of Traditional Chinese Medicine were established. In July 1964, the Yancheng Medical School of Jiangsu Province was reorganized. After the national college entrance examination system was restored in 1977, it took a longer time to undertake the training tasks of colleges and undergraduates. In 1996, five-year higher vocational enrollment began, and higher vocational education was launched. On March 18, 2005, it was approved by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province (Su Zhengfa [2005] No. 25) and filed by the Ministry of Education, and was upgraded to Yancheng Health Vocational and Technical College. Renamed as Jiangsu Medical Vocational College in February 2017.
In the “China Higher Education Innovative Talents Cultivation and Discipline Competition Evaluation Results (Higher Vocational Education) Rankings” first published by the Chinese Higher Education Association in 2017, Jiangsu Vocational College of Medicine ranked first in the country’s health vocational colleges, and has initially reached the domestic level. Jiangsu Vocational College of Medicine has actively carried out foreign cultural exchanges and cooperation, and has successively cooperated with universities and institutions in the United States, Canada, Germany, and Japan. It has sent more than 60 students to study and work in universities and medical institutions such as Australia and Japan. Our school also cooperates with the St. Lawrence College of Applied Arts, Science, and Technology in Canada, and co-constructs the Yancheng-Changeng Health Care College with Taiwan Chang Gung University of Science and Technology. Cooperated with Randolph-Miken College in the United States and Suncheon Township University in South Korea to jointly launch the Nursing and Pharmaceutical “Overseas Undergraduate Express” project.
