Gansu Polytechnic College of Animal Husbandry and Engineering (甘肃畜牧工程职业技术学院) is the only full-time general vocational college in Gansu Province that trains talents in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and agricultural machinery. Its predecessors were the former Gansu Animal Husbandry School (National Key Technical Secondary School), which was founded in 1952 and the former Gansu Agricultural Mechanization School (National Key Technical Secondary School), which was established in 1958, and belonged to the Education Department of Gansu Province.
Gansu Polytechnic College of Animal Husbandry and Engineering covers an area of 2,200 acres, including 800 acres of campus and 1,400 acres of internship farms. The building area of the school building is 200,000 square meters. The fixed assets are more than 300 million yuan, of which the total value of teaching equipment is 120 million yuan.
