Introduction to Private Hualian College
Private Hualian College (私立华联学院), also known as Guangdong Hualian University, is located in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. It was founded in 1990 by South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Jinan University, and Guangdong Teachers College of Technology ( Former Guangdong University for Nationalities) and other retired professors in some ordinary universities in Guangzhou. The college was officially established on April 26, 1994 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and is a privately run college with qualifications for enrolling in education. In 2009, the college was approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education to obtain qualifications for foreign students.
The college covers an area of more than 600 acres. It has 9,000 students, 230 full-time teachers (including 13 foreign teachers), and 202 part-time teachers. It has 11 departments and 38 majors. The continuing education college of this kind of research training, the college cooperates with South China Normal University, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and other universities to communicate with each other for self-tested undergraduate education.
In the second half of 2003, Private Hualian College was officially selected as one of the “600 Famous Universities in China”; in 2003, the college was rated as one of the “Top Ten Privately-run Universities in Guangdong Province”; One of the “Top Ten Universities”; In September 2005, Hualian was awarded the “China Private Education Innovation and Development Contribution Award” by the Chen Xiangmei Education Award Office and the China Adult Education Association; it was awarded for five consecutive years from 2006 to 2010 “Top Ten Private Universities with the Most Employment Competitiveness in Guangdong Province”. In May 2008, Hualian was named “2008 (First) Top 50 Private Universities in China”. In 2008 won the national “model school for caring about the next generation of growth”, in 2009 was awarded “national advanced school of moral education management”
