Electric Power Occupational Technical Institute of SEPC (山西电力职业技术学院) is a full-time general college-level vocational college established with the approval of the provincial government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is a model higher vocational college in Shanxi Province and a high-quality vocational college construction unit in Shanxi Province. The college is located in the beautiful Jinyang Lake in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, and covers an area of 170 acres.
The Electric Power Occupational Technical Institute of SEPC currently has 162 full-time teachers (including 86 graduate students) and 91 senior titles. There are 2 provincial-level excellent teaching teams, 2 provincial-level “dual-teacher” teaching teachers, 11 outstanding teachers, 2 power enterprise cultural event planning experts, 76 power industry experts, and 11 provincial power company experts; 123 Enterprise trainer qualifications; 39 national vocational skill appraisers; 100 have qualifications as technicians in the power industry.
The college is the State Grid Shanxi Skills Training Center, the State Grid Transmission and Distribution Live Operation Training Base, the Shanxi Provincial Electric Power Company’s Agricultural Power Training Base, the Shanxi International Power Group Corporation Training Base, the Shanxi Electric Power Association Training Center, and Shanxi Firepower National Vocational Skills Appraisal Station for Power Generation and Power Supply, Computer Information Technology Examination Station of the Ministry of Labor, etc. Among them, the “Electrical, Electrical and Automation” training base and the “Power Engineering” training base are provincial demonstration training bases and national vocational education training bases. Has 8 production training bases. Substation operation base, substation maintenance base, transmission and distribution training base, integrated control base, distribution network training base, marketing training base, power communication training base, and power safety training base.
Electric Power Occupational Technical Institute of SEPC is the Skill Training Center of Shanxi Provincial Electric Power Company of the State Grid. . The advantages of the management system have brought innate advantages to the integration of school-enterprise resources, sharing and integration of production and education, and school-enterprise cooperation. The college has signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with 106 companies. Each year, the number of corporate recruitment positions exceeds the number of top-training internship students. Professional counterparty units are selected in both directions through job fairs. At the same time, students participate in recruitment examinations for large state-owned enterprises such as the State Grid and China Southern Power Grid. Hired by State Grid Tibet Power Company, State Grid Qinghai Power Company, etc., graduates can also find employment units on their own. The graduate employment rate in 2017 was 93.34%.
