Binzhou Polytechnic (滨州职业学院, website) was established in July 2001 by the merger of a former agricultural school, a health school, an economic school, an industrial school, and an agricultural science institute. It has a history of more than 60 years. In March 2005, it was identified by Shandong Provincial Department of Education as a backbone model vocational college in Shandong Province; in 2010, the college entered the ranks of backbone vocational college construction units in the country as the first in the province. A new chapter; in September 2017, with the fourth place in the province, it entered the first batch of high-quality vocational college construction engineering projects in Shandong Province, laying a solid foundation for striving for high-level vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics. In 2019, it successfully passed the mid-term acceptance of high-quality schools, and became one of 200 high-quality vocational colleges in the country. It was successfully selected as a high-level vocational school with Chinese characteristics.
Binzhou Polytechnic now covers an area of more than 3,500 mu, with a construction area of 803,500 square meters, and total assets of 1.78 billion yuan. There are 15 secondary colleges with more than 1,100 in-service faculty members, including 4 national outstanding teachers, 2 middle-aged and young experts with outstanding contributions from the province, 7 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 6 teaching teachers from Shandong Province, 11 provincial teaching teams. Binzhou Polytechnic and the Provincial Department of Oceans and Fisheries jointly established the Ocean Academy, and jointly established the Intellectual Property Institute with the Provincial Intellectual Property Office and the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau. The development zone signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly build a community college with the high-tech zone. Established by the Air Force as a “National Targeted Training College for Non-commissioned Officers”, the recruitment of non-commissioned officers covers the three major arms of the Navy, the Air Force, and the Strategic Support Force, and four key specialties in marine technology, marine engineering technology, petrochemical technology, and nursing. In 2018, it was appraised as the second batch of demonstration schools for school-enterprise cooperation in Shandong Province.
Binzhou Polytechnic led the establishment of the Training Committee of the Chinese Vocational Education Association and the China Nursing Vocational Education Alliance, piloted the first third-age university in the country’s vocational colleges, trained more than 80,000 people each year, and earned over 14 million yuan in revenue for two consecutive years. He was selected as the “Top 50 Contributors to Service” in higher vocational colleges. Adhering to the scientific and technological R & D thinking of “from the enterprise to the enterprise”, the Binzhou Applied Science and Technology Research Institute was established to actively provide technical support for enterprises. The technology jointly developed with the enterprise won the second prize of the Shandong Province Technology Invention Award; Shandong Province Modern agricultural cotton comprehensive experimental station settled in college. 10 scientific research projects at or above provincial level have been approved, including 1 national 863 project, presided over the National Natural Science Fund, the provincial natural science fund, the provincial doctoral fund, the major blue-and-yellow theoretical projects of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and 1 of the provincial agricultural transfer fund projects item. The new cotton variety “Binzhe Cotton” No. 1 was successfully bred, and the state-approved soybean “Binzhe Cotton” No. 1 passed the national new crop variety approval. He has won one second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, one second prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, two third prizes, and one second prize of Provincial Technology Invention Award. Binzhou Polytechnic adheres to the international school running strategy, and jointly builds the “China-Europe Language Center” with Hessen, Germany, and strives for the listing of the “Goethe-Institut”, the first vocational college in China. Binzhou “Belt and Road” international talent training base, international talent special fund Binzhou Work Station, UWEE Binzhou Campus of European and Asian Education Alliance were unveiled and established; together with Binzhou Taiwan Office and China Cross-Strait Enterprise Development Federation, “Bintai Industry-University-Research Exchange Center” “Bintai Youth Cultural Exchange Center”. Binzhou Polytechnic students have won over 180 awards at provincial level and above.
