Introduction to Anqing Medical College

Anqing Medical College (安庆医药高等专科学校, website) is the only medical higher education institution in southwestern Anhui. Formerly known as Anqing Health School, the history of running the school can be traced back to the “Provincial Lihuang Senior Midwifery Vocational School” established in 1943. It is the earliest public medical education school in Anhui Province.

Anqing Medical College is located in Yixiu District, Anqing City, on the banks of the Yangtze River, under the Dalong Mountain, with greenery and vitality. It covers an area of 630 acres (420,000 square meters), with a construction area of 150,000 square meters, and teaching equipment worth more than 50 million yuan. The College currently has 665 faculty and medical staff. 107 associate professional titles including associate professors and above (among them, 9 professors and other senior professional titles <1 second-level professor>), 2 doctors, 128 masters, and 1 person enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council.

Anqing Medical College opens clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation therapy, medical imaging technology, medical inspection technology, pharmacy, drug operation and management, drug production technology, drug quality and safety, traditional Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical preparation technology, Biopharmaceutical technology, health product development and management, food nutrition and testing, nursing, midwifery and other 17 general specialty majors, more than 8,000 students.

The college has teaching departments such as the Department of Clinical Medicine, the Department of Pharmacy, the Department of Nursing, the Department of Basic Medicine, the Department of Public Foundations, and the Marxist College. People’s Hospital, Navy Anqing Hospital, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital Group Anqing Petrochemical Hospital, Shenzhen Dapeng New District Nan’ao Hospital), and nearly 200 off-campus internship training bases.

The college has achieved fruitful results in discipline construction, specialty construction, curriculum construction, teaching and research project construction, thesis publication, teaching material publication, patent application, and skill competition. Anqing Medical College has established friendly cooperative relations with foreign universities such as Gaya University, South Korea, Chuvash University, Russia, Lancashire University, and St. Clair College, Canada. Cooperate in areas such as student visits and study abroad, teacher exchange visits for further studies, promotion of Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine culture, and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. The college hired Professor Yao Zhibin, former vice chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference and president of the Guangdong Medical Association, as honorary director of the School Development Advisory Committee. Professor He Xiaoshun, the “2017 China Top Ten Science and Technology Personnel” and the Deputy Dean of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, was appointed as the honorary president.
