Introduction to Tangshan University
Tangshan University (唐山学院, website) is located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the cradle of modern industry in China. It is a public full-time general undergraduate college with a multi-disciplinary coordinated development of engineering, economics, management, literature, law, and art. Established in 1956, it was formerly known as Tangshan Industrial Night University in the former Tangshan Railway College (now Southwest Jiaotong University). In 1985, Tangshan was founded by the Intellectual Support Tangshan of Southwest Jiaotong University. In 1996, the school and Southwest Jiaotong University began to jointly organize undergraduate programs, and have trained 8 graduates. The expert group of Southwest Jiaotong University is still playing a role. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Tangshan College, Southwest Jiaotong University Tangshan Branch, and Tangshan City Workers College merged to form an undergraduate college—Tangshan College. In December 2014, with the approval of the Hebei Provincial People’s Government, Tangshan Branch of Hebei University of Science and Technology was merged into Tangshan College. In 2015, with the approval of the Tangshan Municipal People’s Government, the Tangshan Foreign Economic and Trade School was substantially merged into Tangshan College.
Tangshan University is divided into 4 campuses: West University Road (East, South, and North), Huayan North Road, Hebei Road, and Longze Road, covering an area of 1,253 acres and a building area of 580,000 square meters.
