Tongchuan Vocational and Technical College (铜川职业技术学院, website) is a full-time public vocational college approved by the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and filed by the Ministry of Education. Administratively affiliated to the People’s Government of Tongchuan City, and the superior department in charge of business is the Education Department of Shaanxi Province.

The college has three campuses: New District, Hutou Mountain, and Huangbao. The new campus is located in the west of Chaoyang Road, New District, Tongchuan City. The existing collection of paper books is 366,500; there are 71 professional experimental training rooms on campus and 87 off-site practice bases. Seven training centers including machinery manufacturing, electrical and electronics and automation, construction engineering technology, materials engineering, nursing, humanities, and computers have been built on the campus. The total value of teaching equipment is more than 36 million yuan, and the total area of practical teaching rooms is 21,700 square meters.

Since its establishment, Tongchuan Vocational and Technical College has made great progress in various undertakings, and has cultivated more than 8,000 technical and technical personnel for the society. The college currently has 7 teaching units and 12 party, government, and group institutions, including the Teacher Education and Management School, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Architecture and Materials Engineering, the Sun Simiao Medical College, the School of Continuing Education, the Basic Department, and the Training Department. There are 298 faculty members, including 188 full-time teachers, 35 teachers with graduate degrees, and 38 teachers with senior titles. Currently, the college recruits students from 9 provinces and cities including Sichuan, Chongqing, Henan, Shanxi, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, and Ningxia. Four humanities, mechanical and electrical, construction, and medical professional groups have been initially formed. The professional setting and the number of students have increased year by year. Established 30 three-year higher vocational majors and 14 five-year higher vocational majors, of which, Central Finance supported the establishment of a professional service industry development capacity building project, two provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot projects; completed provincial key majors 5, 6 college-level key majors; Central Finance supports the construction of 1 training base, 3 provincial demonstration training bases; 1 provincial-level excellent course, and 18 college-level excellent courses. Nine vocational skill appraisal test stations, five provincial and municipal talent training bases, and three training centers have been established, and they have been identified as Shaanxi “Everyone Skills Project” implementing colleges. The college has nearly 4,000 full-time students, 5,000 students in adult education, and annual training of nearly 10,000 people.

Tongchuan Vocational and Technical College takes service development as its purpose, promotes employment as the guidance, focuses on professional construction, establishes rules and regulations, continuously improves the conditions for running schools, strengthens connotation construction, and continuously improves the level of running schools and the quality of personnel training. In December 2010, it successfully passed the evaluation of talent training in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. In September 2011, it passed the supervision of the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government in the running of higher vocational colleges. .
