The CUHK-Shenzhen School of Medicine (CUHK-Shenzhen MED) was jointly established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, CUHK and CUHK-Shenzhen University with a prime focus in Shenzhen and in accordance with the national strategy of the Greater Bay Area. We aim to build a world class medical school integrating 3 major functions:
- High-level medical talent training and recruitment;
- Advancing comprehensive clinical services;
- Developing innovative medical research.

We are looking for high-caliber professionals for the posts of Chairs in these programmes below:
- Biomedical Science and Engineering Programme
- Bioinformatics Programme
- Pharmaceutical Science Programme
- Biological Sciences Programme
The Role
The appointee will oversee the operations of the programmes. The appointee will provide vision, leadership, and management for specific programmes across the School, developing and implementing modern, cutting-edge, and sustainable strategies that support and advance the programme’s strategic objectives.
The appointee will collaborate closely with the Dean to devise creative solutions for programme planning and development, lead the management and development of planned and preventative maintenance programmes, and implement relevant policies, procedures, and systems. The appointee is also expected to drive transformational change within the Programme Office, reshape and revitalize programme structures, and establish a best practice operating model.
Qualifications and Requirements
Qualified candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and personal attributes:
- Possess relevant Ph.D. and professional qualification in Biomedical Science and Engineering, Bioinformatics, Pharmaceutical Science, Biological Sciences;
- Possess a Tenured Full Professor position with senior management experience in sizable and complex organizations, with a proven record of success;
- Hold a balanced perspective and management skills in different key functions of the operations from Planning, Development, Operation to Management & Controls;
- Experience of leadership and management of a wide variety of professional and support staff in complex organizations and in multi-location environment;
- Strategic thinking, with the proven ability to innovate and to manage change in a complex environment;
- Leadership skills and capable of establishing high level effective relationships across the School and University;
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills both oral and written;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Salary will be highly competitive and commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK(SZ), and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK(SZ) regulations.
