Job Title: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports to: ECE Principal

Job Overview:
As an ECE Teacher will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children in the early years.

Key Responsibilities:
 Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of young children, incorporating Reggio-inspired educational practices.
 Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery while maintaining discipline and order. Foster a positive and supportive culture that encourages active engagement and curiosity.
 Use English as the exclusive language of instruction, adapting teaching strategies to engage diverse learners, including English language learners.
 Assess and monitor the progress of each child, providing constructive feedback to parents and guardians while establishing strong partnerships through regular and effective communication.
 Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
 Order supplies, assess maintenance needs, and assist in room assignments.
 Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a coordinated and cohesive curriculum across the ECE program.
 Actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
 Attend staff meetings as required.
 Contribute to the organization and participation in school events, field trips, and other related activities.
 Contribute expertise and passion to After School Activities (ASAs), actively participating in planning and facilitating engaging extracurricular programs for student enrichment and holistic development.

Skills and Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
 Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from a recognized institution or agency.
 Prior experience working as an ECE Teacher in an international or multicultural setting is preferred.
 Strong understanding of child development and early education pedagogy.
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
 A passion for teaching and nurturing young children.
 Familiarity with Reggio education and a Learn through Play, teacher guided philosophy.
 Adaptable, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement and student success.
 Ideally experienced with the Alberta curriculum.
