Job Description: Whole School Drama Teacher

Reports to: Head of Drama Department

Duties:
Plan and teach engaging theatre lessons that follow the the Common Core Arts Standards (NCAS) from the United States.
Cultivate positive, caring and safe classroom environments for all students.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive drama curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
Implement an active, co-curricular theatre program within the department.
Lead at least one theatre elective or drama club for students per semester.
Produce and direct one main stage play or musical performance each semester with the Tsinglan Thespian Troupe students.
Collaborate with colleagues in all aspects of production, elective and club logistics and rehearsals of dramatic productions
Support students with special theatrical talents by recommending competitions, auditions and tutorials when appropriate.
Participate in curriculum writing and professional development within the department.
Participate in cross-curricular projects with colleagues when appropriate.
Collaborate with other teachers and departments, especially to support English learning in drama classes.
Promote communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity in your teaching.
Promote cross-cultural understanding among faculty members and students.
Maintain positive relationships with parents and participate in conferences.
Assist with Foci-Learning week, Summer School and Study Trips when possible.
Enter attendance records and grading data frequently into the Xiaobao system.
Communicate with home room teachers about students’ progress in drama.
Carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested by administrators.
