Professor / Associate
Professor / Assistant Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Animation and
Interactive Media (Ref: SCC241103)


Job Requirements


The
Animation and Interactive Media Programme is seeking candidates with expertise
in one or more areas of 2D and 3D animation and interactive media that may include
2D and 3D digital arts, 2D and 3D animation, narrative media, history and
theory of animation and interactive media, motion graphics, and VR and AR. Experience
and practice in the industry, sound design, and creative coding are desirable
skills that we could use. The successful candidate will be responsible for
maintaining a creative practice or research while teaching, managing,
supervising, facilitating field trips, tutoring and caring for both UG and PG students.


Candidates
should have a Ph.D. or at least a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Game Design
and/or Development. In addition to research or creative practice, the candidate
should be qualified to teach UG and PG courses in one or more areas such as
digital painting and drawing, 3D modelling and animation, character design and
animation, scene design, interactive media, storytelling and narratives, among
other related subjects. Candidates are expected to have knowledge and
experience of the use of 3D modelling software and games engines such as Unity
and Unreal Engine.

Proficiency
in English is required. English is the medium of instruction in the Animation
and Interactive Media Programme. Academic rank will be determined in accordance
with the successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.

Qualifications/
Education





·      Preferably a PhD in Animation, or Game Design, and/or
Computer Science with a background in the Arts/Design field


·      At least an MFA in
Animation, or Interactive Media, or Game Design


·      Membership of relevant professional bodies.


·      Postgraduate qualification in Teaching and
Learning in the Higher Education or equivalent professional bodies.




Skills/Training






·      Ability to teach 3D Modelling, 3D Animation,
Scenery Design, Character Design, Motion Graphics, interactive 3D, VR and AR,
Animation Storytelling, Animation History, Drawing Fundamentals, Sculpting
Fundamentals.



·      Proficient in the following designing tools:
Unity, Blender, Processing, Maya, Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, Houdini.


·      Having proficiency in the following programming
languages: C#, Python, JavaScript.


Experience






·      Preferably three years
of teaching experiences in higher education institutions.


·      Having experience in in
course/ programme/curriculum design and/or development.


·      Proved experience in management and
administration.


·      Evidence of working with external institutions
(industry or academia).


·      Sustained PhD completions.


Language
Skills


·      Proficient in English.


·      Proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Terms


Commencing
salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
