Position Description:
The Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA) invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the level of full professors for Deputy Directors of the State Key Laboratory of Multimodal Artificial Intelligence Systems.
Under the leadership of the laboratory director, the State Key Lab Deputy-Directors will take charge of recruiting and mentoring new faculty members, organizing and implementing major research projects, promoting academic collaboration and exchanges, and building research platforms. Specifically, the Deputy Directors will:
- Recruit and cultivate outstanding researchers and young talents in the field, optimize the structure of research teams, and build internationally recognized scientific teams.
- Lead teams to conduct high-impact academic research, secure major national projects, and deliver innovative and impactful outcomes.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaborations within the laboratory, organize international collaborations and academic exchanges, and enhance the laboratory’s global reputation.
- Assist the laboratory director to develop talent pipelines, construct research platforms, advance international cooperation, drive research output, and develop a research culture of innovation.
Job Requirements:
Applicants for this leadership position should have obtained PhD degrees in Artificial Intelligence or related fields and should hold full professorship or equivalent ranks at research-oriented universities or R&D institutions. Applicants are expected to have conducted cutting-edge and well-recognized research with international impact and outreach and have strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire a large team of active researchers to deliver exceptional research results.
Areas of research interest include but are not limited to: Machine Intelligence, AI for Science, Scientific Computing, Robotics, Complex Systems Modeling, Control, and Decision Making, Autonomous Agent and Multi-Agent Learning, Computational Games and Evolutionary Games, Human-Like Audio-Visual Processing, Hardware and Software for AI Systems, and Innovative Applications of AI.
Location: Beijing.
