Changzhou Institute of Industry Technology (常州工业职业技术学院), formerly known as Changzhou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, is a public full-time ordinary college in charge of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. Founded in 1958, the school has a history of more than 60 years of industry-specific school running and is a model vocational college in Jiangsu Province. The school is located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, the most developed economy in China. It is located in Changzhou Higher Vocational Education Park with beautiful scenery and modern atmosphere, which integrates teaching, scientific research, training, vocational skills appraisal and social services.

Changzhou Institute of Industry Technology has a School of Materials Engineering (School of Environmental Engineering), a School of Modern Equipment Manufacturing, a School of Intelligent Control, a School of Economics and Management, a School of Information Engineering (School of Artificial Intelligence), a School of Tourism and Culinary Arts, a School of Art and Creativity, and a School of Rail Transit , Overseas Education College, Marxism College, Continuing Education College, Quality Education and Innovation and Entrepreneurship School, Sports Work Department and other teaching units, a total of 46 majors.

The school closely integrates the needs of industry and regional economic and social development, and has established a national-level numerical control technology training base, a mechatronics technology training base; a Jiangsu Province intelligent manufacturing production line training platform, and an “Internet +” business scenario training platform; Jiangsu Provincial appliance testing and maintenance training base, polymer material application technology training base, modern manufacturing equipment control and maintenance training base; Jiangsu University Electrical and Electronic Experiment Demonstration Center, Chemistry Basic Course Teaching Experiment Center; Jiangsu Digital Design and R & D Center , LED application engineering technology research and development center and more than 100 experimental training centers.

The initial employment rate of graduates of the school in the past ten years is above 93%, and the year-end employment rate is above 98%, which has been consistently high. According to the Survey Report on the Employment Situation of Junior College Graduates in Jiangsu Province, the 2016, 2017, and 2018 graduate employment competitiveness levels are among the best in the province’s similar institutions.

The school currently has more than 10,000 full-time students, more than 600 faculty and staff, the proportion of professional titles above the sub-high level reached 32%, the proportion of master’s and doctoral degrees reached 66%, the quality of the “double teacher” reached 84.2%. The company has built 3 provincial engineering technology research and development centers and 3 municipal public technology service platforms. Changzhou Institute of Industry Technology serves the national “Belt and Road” initiative, and the school promotes internationalization of international talent training, curriculum development, teaching staff, social services, and academic exchanges.
