Introduction to
Liaoning Shihua University (website) is the first oil industry school in New China. It was founded in Dalian in 1950. It was moved to Fushun in 1953. It was upgraded to Fushun Petroleum Institute in 1958. In February 2000, it was transferred from China Petrochemical Corporation to Liaoning Provincial People’s Government. Leadership, in February 2002, was renamed Liaoning Petrochemical University by the Ministry of Education. In March 2010, the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government signed a joint school agreement with PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC.
In the 68 years since the founding of the school, Liaoning Shihua University has developed into a multi-disciplinary university featuring petroleum and petrochemicals, and coordinated development of eight university departments including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, education and art. In 2007, the school received an evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education and achieved excellent results. The school is a basic training base for high-level talents for ethnic minorities identified by the Ministry of Education, and a medium for pre-university undergraduate students. It is a training base for undergraduate talents in Liaoning Province. At present, more than 110,000 graduates have been trained, most of which have become the management and technical backbone of the national petroleum and petrochemical industry.
Liaoning Shihua University adheres to the connotative development path with quality as the core, establishes the central position of talent cultivation, continuously optimizes the discipline professional structure and faculty, and greatly improves the conditions for running schools, which effectively improves the school’s running level and comprehensive strength. The school covers an area of 1890 acres, with a total construction area of 532,000 square meters, a total collection of 2.716 million books, 36 electronic literature databases, an area of 92,700 square meters of various sports venues, and a total value of teaching and research equipment of nearly 268 million yuan. The school has a faculty and 16 colleges, 52 undergraduate majors and 18,400 full-time students. The school has 2 joint training doctoral programs, 14 first-level master’s programs, 62 second-level master programs, and engineering (covering 10 fields), business administration (MBA), public administration (MPA), and accounting (MPAcc). , Translation (MTI) and Art (MFA) 6 Master’s degree programs. The school was selected as a first-class discipline (A) in Liaoning Province to build a university.
Liaoning Shihua University has 4 national-level specialty programs, 6 professional education training programs for the Ministry of Education (including 1 master’s field), 1 national comprehensive reform pilot program, 2 national engineering practice education centers, and national-level experiments. 3 teaching demonstration centers, 2 national virtual simulation experiment teaching centers, 4 Chinese engineering education certification majors; 1 provincial-level advantage specialty, 2 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilots, and provincial engineering talent training mode reform There are 7 pilot, 7 provincial innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilots, 2 provincial key support majors, 11 provincial first application-oriented transformation pilots, and 5 provincial-level application-oriented transformation demonstrations. There are 7 demonstration centers, 6 provincial virtual simulation experiment teaching centers, 1 provincial training training base, 3 provincial engineering practice education centers, 6 provincial off-campus practice education bases, and 1 provincial innovation and education base. There are 9 provincial resource sharing classes and 2 provincial video open courses. Students’ innovation and entrepreneurship activities have been widely carried out. In the past three years, students have won more than 660 national awards and more than 1,100 provincial and ministerial awards in academic competitions and technological innovation activities. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 93%, and it has been the advanced unit for the employment of provincial graduates for 10 consecutive years.
The school has a high-level faculty, with 1,535 faculty members and 950 full-time faculty members. Among the full-time teachers, there are 387 doctoral teachers, 416 senior professional teachers, and 292 doctoral and master tutors. The school introduced 1 leading talent, 2 academicians, 2 Changjiang scholars, and 1 climbing scholar in Liaoning Province. There are 19 government special allowances from the State Council, 3 special professors in Liaoning Province, 8 talents in Liaoning Province, 8 people in the 100-person level, 22 in the thousand-person level, 13 teaching teachers in Liaoning Province, 6 outstanding talents, and excellent technology. Liaoning Shihua University focused on strengthening the construction of science and technology innovation platform, and built a national and local joint engineering laboratory, 26 provincial key laboratories and engineering technology centers, and established an information technology center, a fine chemical research and development center, and a new energy research and development center with Fushun City. The School of Industrial and Technological Research, and the Petrochemical Joint Laboratory of Sinopec Fushun Petrochemical Research Institute and China Ryukyu Engineering Corporation Liaoning Branch.
Liaoning Shihua University implemented the strategy of opening a school, actively expanded foreign exchanges and cooperation, and established long-term cooperative relations with 47 universities and research institutes in 17 countries including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, and the University of Edinburgh and other foreign countries. Well-known universities jointly carry out undergraduate students such as “2+2, 1+2+1, 4+1” and carry out “Master of Business Administration (MBA)” and “Master of Public Administration (MPA)” projects with universities such as Northern Illinois University. The undergraduate education program for chemical engineering and technology was approved by the Ministry of Education for a Sino-foreign cooperative education project. The school is a Chinese government scholarship recipient designated by the Ministry of Education.
