The University is a national key university of the same age as the Republic. The University of International Relations has 2 colleges and 5 departments. Undergraduate education includes international politics, international economics and trade, English, Japanese, French, communication, law, information management and information systems, public management, administrative management, etc.10 Majors, including international political theory research, international political diplomatic practice, international economy and trade, government procurement, English language and culture, English translation, applied Japanese, applied French, culture and communication, Chinese international communication, law, data science and engineering , Information security, intelligent information processing, international affairs management, foreign-related management and other 16 professional directions.

The University of International Relations has the right to host education for foreign students, and conducts educational cooperation and academic exchanges with universities in the United States, Japan, France, Denmark and other countries. The school implements the three-semester system of autumn, spring, and summer, of which the summer semester mainly employs international teachers to teach. The school encourages students to participate in international exchanges during the summer semester and summer vacation, and invests special funds to support academic practice and other activities. The school implements a credit system and a mentoring system to provide students with a curriculum system that combines professional theory with professional practice, with majors and minors supporting each other. The school insists on small class teaching for a long time and insists on meticulous training. It is one of the few national key universities that has not implemented large-scale enrollment.
