Introduction to Zhejiang Business Technology Institute

Zhejiang Business Technology Institute (浙江工商职业技术学院, ZBTI, website) was one of the first four public higher vocational colleges approved by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. It was founded in 1914.

The main campus of the school is located in the famous commercial city of China and the modern international port city – Ningbo. The transportation is convenient and the location advantage is obvious. It is 15 minutes drive from the city center, 10 minutes drive from the railway station and 15 minutes drive from the airport. The total area is 964 acres. The headquarter covers an area of 401 mu, 150 mu of Ninghai Campus, 413 mu of Cixi Campus, the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 171 million yuan, and the library has a collection of more than 1.91 million volumes (including 910,000 copies of paper). There are more than 9,800 full-time students. There are 643 faculty members and 313 teachers with master’s degree or above.

The school now has 7 colleges/schools, including the School of Economics and Management, the School of Electronic Commerce, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of International Exchange, the School of Architecture and Art, the School of Electronic Information, and the School of Sense, and has 28 majors. In 2015, the school ranked first in the province’s reputation index of higher colleges and universities.

The school cooperated with GE Company of the United States to build the first automation engineer training center in the province. The school is the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province approved by the Ministry of Education to carry out Sino-foreign cooperative education. In 2002, the China-Australia Cooperative School was held with the Australian Holmesglen College. The Holmesglen College Branch and the International Teacher Training Center were established to introduce the TAFE education model. The school has won the “Best Overseas Teaching Achievement Award” and “Excellent Management Award” from the Australian side; the China-Australia Cooperation International Business Department and the China-Australia Cooperation Accounting Program have successively passed the certification of the China Education International Exchange Association Sino-foreign Cooperation School Quality Committee. The school also signed cooperation agreements with educational institutions in 28 countries and regions to carry out exchanges and cooperation between countries (outside the country).

The school serves the regional economic development of Zhejiang and Ningbo, improves the level of running schools, strives to create high-quality vocational colleges, and strives to become a leading vocational school in China.
