The Position
The Director of International Education will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic vision, development, and operational excellence of CIEO’s international education division. This senior leadership role will oversee the management and growth of existing international schools, the Canadian International School of Guangzhou (CISGZ), Canadian International School of Foshan (CISFS) and Britannia International School (BIS) in mainland China as well as Lanna International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The role also include spearheading new projects in collaboration with key stakeholders and the role requires close coordination with the Deputy Director based in Thailand, the General Manager of International Education, and CIEO’s President, to ensure a seamless and successful implementation of educational strategies. It is a dynamic and cross-functional role designed to elevate the quality, reputation, and footprint of CIEO’s international schools, providing leadership
at a critical time of expansion and innovation within the organization.

Education
Master’s degree in Education, Leadership, or related field,
Certification in Alberta Education or strong familiarity with Alberta standards (desired).

Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a leadership role within international education,
Proven track record of success in managing and developing multiple international schools or educational entities,
Experience with strategic planning, operational oversight, and new school development,
Have a high entrepreneurial spirit and creativity to grow and improve the business.

Knowledge and Core Skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills,
Strong ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives,
Knowledge of international school accreditation processes and standards,
Cross-cultural fluency and proven ability to work in a global context,
Proficiency in English is a must,
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required.

Line management
The Director of International Education reports to the General Manager of International Education at CIEO, and CIEO’s President.

Compensation and Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with the leadership level of the role, including travel allowance, housing allowance, health insurance, and relocation support.
