Job Description
We are looking to appoint an experienced, committed and enthusiastic Housemaster and Housemistress (Hms) to join Wycombe Abbey School Nanjing in August 2025. As a new school in a growing group of Wycombe Abbey Schools in China, our vision is “Every Child Can Excel” which will be the foundation upon which we will build our thriving community. Our key focus areas will be on delivering academic excellence through our dual language curriculum, offering an extensive holistic education whilst supporting the development of independence and growth through our boarding programme.
The school opened in September 2021, with boarding being offered from Year 2 (Grade 1) through to Year 13 (Grade 12). The successful candidates will be working closely with the Assistant Head Pastoral to shape our boarding houses which will reflect a British style of boarding. The boarding programme will include flexi and weekly boarding for Lower School students, progressing to full boarding for Upper School students. It is our intention that the majority of students from Year 5 upwards will board and therefore commitment to a full boarding school will be essential. The Housemaster and Housemistress will be responsible for the pastoral and academic well-being of the students within their houses and will be the main point of contact between home and school. This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of a Founding Hm and will provide an opportunity to shape the internal set-up of the boarding house. You will play an integral role in setting the standards within your House, alongside developing the processes, systems and policies that are so vital for the smooth operation of a successful boarding school. Fully qualified teachers with the necessary experience to build and develop a new boarding house, who have plenty of energy, positive enthusiasm and full commitment to boarding are invited to submit completed application forms.
