Laboratory Introduction

The SEED (Social Excellence for Early Development) Early Social Development Lab focuses on research aiming to identify individual characteristics early in life as predictors and indicators of healthy and/or atypical development (e.g., developmental delay, autism). We follow two primary research paths in human infants and toddlers: One involves examining patterns of healthy early social development by integrating measures across multiple domains (e.g., behavior, physiology, neural activity), and the other focuses on identifying deviations to healthy development by applying cutting-edge tools such as advanced statistical modeling and machine learning in development science. Prof. ZENG Guangyu, the Lab PI, is an Assistant Professor in Applied Psychology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (Website: https://myweb.cuhk.edu.cn/zenggy###).

 

Position

Full-time Lab Manager

 

Job Description

Applicants should have:

1. A Bachelor degree (or above) in Psychology or relevant disciplines;

2. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills;

3. Extensive experiences working/interacting with infants and toddlers;

4. Exceptional attention to details and organizational skills;

5. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and Chinese;

6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively;

7. Proficiency with data analysis;

8. Experience with eye-tracking and neuroimaging techniques are preferred;

9. Knowledge in programming, machine learning, and deep learning, are preferred;

10. Future plans for doctoral study would be a plus.

 

Job responsibilities include:

1. Recruit and communicate with families for lab study visits;

2. Conduct experiments with children and their families;

3. Manage lab-related logistics including data management, equipment maintaining, research necessities administration, and lab activities organization, etc.;

4. Collaborate with PI and grad students on research design and implementation;

5. Other lab-related managements.

 

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be comparable to international standards, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Advices in career development in disciplinaries related to psychology and child development. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen, and employee benefits will be provided according to the relevant labor laws of Mainland China as well as CUHK-Shenzhen regulations.
