Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) now invites candidates for these positions which are expected to be filled in February/September 2025:

Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Media Arts and Design (Ref: SCC241101)






Job Requirements


The
Media Arts and Design program is seeking candidates in the following areas
including graphic design, UI/UX, product design, generative arts and game
design. Successful candidate should also be qualified to teach theoretical
courses in arts and design, like history of media arts and design, electronic
media and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a
creative practice or research while teaching, managing, supervising,
facilitating field trips, tutoring and caring for both UG and PG students.


Candidates
should have a Ph.D. or at least a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree with
teaching experience in a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected
to be committed to excellence in UG or PG teaching. Preference will be given to
candidates who have professional experience in gallery, museum, and or media
groups, internet companies, advertising agencies, game industry. The potential
candidates are expected to have professional credits and industry connections.
The candidate should be cooperative, patient, and enthusiastic.


 


Proficiency
in English is required. English is the medium of instruction in the college.
Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s
experience and research accomplishments.

· Preferably a PhD, at least an MFA, in Design,


 Visual Arts, Science of Arts, etc.


· Membership of relevant professional 


bodies.


· Postgraduate qualification in Teaching 


and Learning in the Higher Education or


equivalent professional bodies.


Skills/Training


 


 


 


 


· Ability to teach history of Media arts and design, 


computer programming for design, 3D design, game


design, generative arts, social design, etc.


· Proficient in the following software/ 


applications: Adobe InDesign, Adobe


illustration, Photoshop, Animate, Affect 


Effect, Maya, Cinema4D, Blender, Unity, 


Unreal Engine, Final Cut pro, processing, 


JavaScript, etc.


· Stay informed about advancements in 


industry equipment.


Experience


 


 


 


· Preferably three years of teaching experiences in 


higher education institutions.


· Having experience in course/ programme/


curriculum design and/or development.


· Proved experience in management and 


administration.


· Evidence of working with external 


institutions (industry or academia).


· Sustained PhD completions.


Language Skills


· Proficient in English.


· Proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

· Passion in promoting programs and 


facilitating student admissions.

Benefits and Appointment Terms 

Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave, social insurance and commercial insurance. Appointments to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
