The PYP Coordinator has overall responsibility for PYP:
Leadership
(i) Support and mentor new PYP teachers in the classroom.
(ii) Provide learning engagement input and feedback for PYP teachers as requested and when possible.
(iii) Provide opportunities for teachers to observe one another in practice. And support them through regular classroom visits.

Communication
(i) Be an active part of the Senior Leadership Team and provide feedback about the progress and development of the PYP.
(ii) Keep the leadership regularly informed of PYP developments.
(iii) Assist teams in planning for the PYP during regularly scheduled planning meetings.
(iv) Maintain communication between CIS and the IB.
(v) Ensure that curriculum-related parent meetings and workshop opportunities are provided.
(vi) Ensure that all PYP teachers have access to the IB Online Curriculum Centre (OCC).
(vii) Communicate newly published PYP documents to all PYP teachers.
(viii) Contribute to the presentation and promotion of the academic programme within CIS.

Professional Development
(i) Provide induction to the PYP for new PYP teachers.
(ii) In consultation with the leadership of the school, identify areas for professional development, and plan internal and external workshops accordingly.
(iii) Communicate relevant PYP professional development opportunities for staff.
(iv) Review Professional Development (PD) applications from teachers and forward to relevant member of the leadership team; register PYP teachers for IB PD through IBIS.
(v) Ensure that all PYP teachers have access to the reporting guidelines and provide assistance.

Curriculum
(i) Provide PYP teachers with relevant PYP curriculum documentation
(ii) Provide guidance for PYP teachers in understanding PYP Scope and Sequence documents.
(iii) Ensure that PYP teachers understand how to use the PYP unit planner.
(iv) Ensure that curriculum documentation is up-to-date.
(v) Liaise with the Assistant Principals regarding PYP curricul
