Research Assistant for the Public Administration Training Centre

Job Description

Established in September 2020, the Public Administration Training Centre (PATC) of the University of Macau launched Macao’s first off-the-job training programme for public servants and has made substantial contributions to the public administrative enhancement for Macao. PATC invites applications for Research Assistant. Initial appointment is up to 12 months with a possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and mutual agreement. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty ASAP.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in research and projects related to public administration training strategies, trends and developments, system and framework, as well as patterns and methods, etc;
  2. Assist to collect and analyze research data and assist in the compilation of research outputs and reports;
  3. Assist to support and organize programme development and activities;
  4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. A bachelor’s degree or above in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication or related field is preferred;
  2. Demonstrating rich knowledge and relevant working experience of public administration training;
  3. Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese);
  4. Proficiency in MS Office and design software. Knowledge of AI tools and statistics is an advantage;
  5. Proactive, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work in a team with good relationship skills;
  6. Experience in managing promotion through social media and website is preferred.

Remuneration
Remuneration offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Basic medical benefits are available at a low cost.
