The 3rd Young Scholars Recruitment Conference of Anhui Medical University

I. Conference Introduction

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, implement the spirit of the Central Conference on Talent Work, and further promote the “strengthening the university through talents” strategy, and provide talent support for the high-quality development of the university, Anhui Medical University plans to hold the Third Young Scholars Recruitment Conference on May 10.

The conference will be held in a combination of online and offline formats, aiming to gather a group of outstanding young scholars from home and abroad to conduct research on academic hotspots and frontier issues, promote academic innovation and exchange cooperation, accelerate the pace of building the university into a “double world-class” institution, and help the university create a highland for top-tier talent in the “New Medical Science” field.

II. Invited Candidates

1. Those who have a strong passion for China’s higher education, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, abide by laws and regulations, adhere to professional ethics, and uphold academic rigor and norms.

2. Individuals who have obtained or are about to obtain a doctoral degree from well-known universities both domestically and internationally, possess the ability to independently conduct scientific research, have achieved representative results in their research field, demonstrate potential for development, and are interested in working at Anhui Medical University.

3. Generally, candidates should not exceed 40 years of age, although exceptional candidates may be considered beyond this age limit.

Disciplines required include basic medicine, preventive medicine, pharmacy, clinical medicine, oral medicine, health management, nursing, life sciences, biomedical engineering, psychology, medical humanities, law, Marxist theory, etc.

VIII. School Introduction 

Anhui Medical University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Anhui Province, and it is the first higher medical institution in the province. It is a key university under the administration of Anhui Province, jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and Anhui Province. It is one of the first batch of local characteristic high-level universities and comprehensive reform pilot schools in Anhui Province.

The university originated from Southeast Medical University, founded in Shanghai in 1926. In response to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to “face the countryside and move towards the inland” in 1949, it relocated to Huaiyuan, Anhui. In 1952, it was relocated to Hefei and renamed Anhui Medical College. In 1985, it was renamed Anhui Medical University.

In 2019, the university was approved as a comprehensive reform pilot university for “Three Comprehensive Educations” in Anhui Province and a demonstration university for party building work in the province. In 2022, it was selected as one of the universities for the construction of high-level public health schools by the Ministry of Education. As the birthplace of higher medical education in Anhui Province, the university has always been a pioneer, nurturer, and leader in the higher medical education and health care cause of Anhui Province. It is also the center for medical education, medical research, and medical and health services in Anhui Province.

The service system is comprehensively improved and perfected

We have 20 directly affiliated teaching institutions, 5 directly affiliated hospitals, 1 Anhui Provincial Public Health Clinical Center, 6 jointly built affiliated hospitals, 3 non-directly affiliated hospitals, with a total of 32,300 beds and 31,000 medical staff. We have 127 renowned medical experts from the Jianghuai region, 15 national-level key clinical specialties, 107 provincial-level key clinical specialties, 1 national-level key discipline, and 3 provincial-level key disciplines. We also have more than 300 cooperative units in medical alliances.

Disciplinary development, with a comprehensive range of fields 

We have 4 first-level doctoral degree-granting disciplines, 45 second-level doctoral degree-granting disciplines, 13 first-level master’s degree-granting disciplines, and 79 second-level master’s degree-granting disciplines. Additionally, we have 4 post-doctoral research stations, 5 disciplines recognized as Anhui Province’s high-level disciplines in higher education institutions, and 3 disciplines approved for Anhui Province’s high-level cultivation project. Furthermore, 11 disciplines have entered the top 1% in global rankings according to ESI.

Research platforms with formidable strength  

We have one provincial laboratory, three key laboratories under the Ministry of Education, one key laboratory under the National Health Commission, one international cooperation joint laboratory under the Ministry of Education, one base for discipline innovation and talent introduction under the Ministry of Science and Technology, one engineering research center under the Ministry of Education, one medical basic research innovation center under the Ministry of Education, and 52 provincial-level science and technology platforms.

Educational curriculum with distinctive characteristics 

We have 12 national-level first-class undergraduate majors, 11 national-level first-class undergraduate courses, 4 national-level experimental teaching/clinical teaching training demonstration centers, 2 national-level ideological and political education demonstration projects, 1 national-level popular science education base, 1 national-level provincial-level training base for school first aid education, 1 national-level pilot school for school first aid education, and 1 national-level Huang Danian-style teaching team for universities. Additionally, we have received 2 second prizes for national-level teaching achievements, and offer 1 course branded by the Ministry of Education for English teaching to international students.
